Mermaid Meetings

Bonjour everyone! I think this is the first of it's kind that I'm posting in my gallery on dA: It's not just traditional, it's not just digital, and it's not a scan.. it's a picture of a traditional line-art that I digitally added color to! And it's the first like that that I've uploaded on my dA gallery :'D Cause screw just pretty scans, I'm just gonna add these works here too! Woooooh!

ANYWAYS, that's not even the point of this drawing.. the real point is that this is a gift for all of the lovely ladies from Stardrops-Doujinshi !! (the doujin circle I'm a part of ) It just so happens that almost all of these girls have their bday during summer.. and I just can't keep up with the b'day presents! :'0 Let's take a look at the members and their bday, shall we?

The only exception of not being born during summer.. is me! xd But I don't have to draw myself a bday present so that doesn't help me much x'D Anyway, summer is always hectic for me. At one point, I feel like I could draw whatever I want and I've got all the free time of the world. The next, I started so many projects and go on vacation and plan trips etc etc and suddenly it's CHAAOSSS And this year, almost my entire vacation was chaos x'D Having a manga to finish and planning give-aways didn't exactly help lmao. But! These fantastic girls still had their birthdays and I really really REALLY wanted to draw them something!! I want them to know that I apreciatte them a ton, and just a bday message doesn't do the trick;; So I thought.. what if I make one big drawing featuring an OC of everyone? 8U It will really show the Stardrops-spirit as well, it'll look fun and it's a present for everyone! Win-win! And so, I drew this!  

This drawing features one OC for every member of Stardrops, as mermaids! For XxSaChan I drew Babydoll! (Girl on the bottom) For Saviroosje I drew Penny! (Girl at the right who's upside down) For 100procent-Juul I drew Emeri! (Girl with the aqua-green and pink tail in the middle) For sekaiichihappy I drew Sucette! (girl with the orange tail at the left) For Soramori I drew Ember! (Girl with the dark blue-purple tail) And to add myself to the party (I wanted to be part of the mermaid meet too wahh :'3c), I drew Michiko! (Girl with the yellow-pink tail in the middle). I hope you guys can sorta recognise your OC!! ;V; Since the drawing isn't fully colored I guess it'll be hard;; But I really tried my best to draw everyone's OC as pretty and accurate as possible, giving them all fins and accesoires and colors that match their original designs ;V; I also tried to make characters interact with eachother! Be it sitting/doozing off togheter, patting anothers head, giving someone a shell, eye contact, I wanted to make all the mermaids look like they're good friend having a great, comfy time togheter ; P ;

For coloring I used a picture of hydrangea that I took last Summer, then added this as an overlay to a layer on which I colored all the mermaids to fitting colors! It was suuuuperfun to color! Layer on fringe, airbrush on spread, and then having a good time added the most beautifull and fitting color combinations *P* And I'm very very pleased with the end result! I made sure you can zoom in enough to take a good look at all the details too! (and all the fantastic breasts I drew lmao--)

Lastly, to all the lovely members from Stardrops: THANK YOU for always being so kind to me! Thank you for drawing me presents for my birthday, even though I more often than not couldn't draw you something! Thank you for commenting on my works, despite me barely commenting on yours! Thank you for listening to my ideas for conventions and merchandise, even though I can be so over-ambitious and perfectionistic at times! Thank you for being there for me when I need it! Thank you for being such great friends!! I love you all so so much!!!
